[1]Charles Booker
Friend — yesterday, President Biden pardoned thousands of people
who were convicted of ‘simple possession' of marijuana.
This is a massive development from President Biden, and although it's a
great first step, I plan to go even further.
We must end the war on drugs and legalize cannabis. Legalizing cannabis is
about more than just allowing recreational use, potential medicinal
benefits, or the money that can be made from this new market.
It’s about overturning a century's worth of racist legislation that
disproportionately affects Black and Brown Kentuckians. It’s about
decriminalizing poverty and rebuilding the communities that have suffered
the most harm. And it’s about ensuring that everyone has access to the
opportunities that the new cannabis market provides.
It makes no sense to lock up Kentuckians for possessing less than an ounce
of marijuana while millionaires profit tremendously from its legal sale.
It’s not fair and it’s certainly not justice. The injustice must end and I
plan to do just that. Send me to the Senate and let's finally legalize
cannabis.

grassroots movement. Make a $20 donation today to support this plan and be
in this fight with me.
