Friend,
For me, the magic of the holiday season started on Staten Island. Off the last exit on 278 before you cross the line into New Jersey, at Amazon’s JFK8 warehouse, a worker named Rina delivered more than 600 petitions from her co-workers demanding better working conditions.
Just an hour earlier, she and her fellow workers were holding a banner over their faces. They were nervous to be seen protesting the biggest company in the world. But still, Rina demanded to see her general manager. She said “we won’t give these petitions to anyone but him, and we’re not going anywhere.” In that moment I knew she had felt the magic of organizing.

It’s the moment we go from knowing in our heads that we have power in numbers to knowing in our hearts that we can win.
Magic like this doesn’t happen overnight. It took dozens of meetings and calls with workers. It took countless shifts gathering petitions. It took courage, effort, and determination from workers and organizers alike.
Our Amazon organizing is critically under-resourced and we’re in an uphill battle against the biggest corporation in the world. Your support will make all the difference as we prepare for 2020. Click here and make a contribution today.
Best,
