John — we’re at the point in Election Season where it’s easy to lose sight of what really matters.

Between wall-to-wall TV ads, soundbites and gaffes, and endless talk about the polls, the true stakes of the election — the policies the candidates will implement, and how those policies help or hurt people — can become an afterthought.

So I wanted to take a moment and talk to you directly about what is at stake in this race when it comes to protecting personal freedom here in Colorado, because our freedoms are very much on the line.

As your Governor, I have protected, and will continue to protect, a woman’s right to choose. My opponent has said she would rip up the law I signed protecting that fundamental right here in Colorado.

As your Governor, I will defend your right to cast a ballot safely and securely by mail, at a dropbox, or in person. My opponent has picked an election-denying running mate who called mail-in ballots fraudulent.

The truth is, John, when it comes to protecting people’s rights, elections matter quite a lot. It matters a lot who we have as our Governor.
