My work in TX-31 and Congress   Dear Texan, I had a busy week back home in Texas, so I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on what’s happening in the U.S. House and Texas’ 31st district. ON THE DOCKET: Fort Hood Change of Command Ceremony Funding for Round Rock’s Crisis Response Unit A Government that’s Accountable THE BRIEF: President Biden has leased fewer acres of federal and offshore land for domestic oil and gas production at this point in his presidency than any other president since the end of World War II. According to Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, there have now been over 80 acts of violence and intimidation against pro-life pregnancy centers, churches, and organizations. Human smuggling is now a $20 billion business for criminal cartels under the Biden administration. Congressman Carter attends the Fort Hood Change of Command Ceremony to honor Lt. General White and welcome Lt. General Bernabe. FORT HOOD CHANGE OF COMMAND CEREMONY I was honored to attend the III Corps and Fort Hood Change of Command Ceremony. Thank you, Lt. I am excited to welcome Lt. General Bernabe as the new Commander of Fort Hood. I look forward to working with Lt. General Bernabe to ensure that Ft. Hood remains The Great Place. Congratulations and thank you to both! FUNDING FOR ROUND ROCK’S CRISIS RESPONSE UNIT I secured one million dollars for Round Rock’s Crisis Response Unit in the 2022 appropriations bill. This funding will support the unit’s mental health first responders, including behavioral health specialists and paramedics, so that law enforcement officers can focus on actual criminal behavior.
