96 Losing a Cornerstone of Hoosier Politics We at the Indiana
Republican Party are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of
Marjorie Hartley O'Laughlin, the 50th treasurer of the state of Indiana
and a cornerstone of Indiana and Indianapolis politics.

Known as
"Marge O" to many, Marjorie first held office as city clerk for the city
of Indianapolis, running for that office alongside mayoral candidate
Richard Lugar in 1967. After serving as city clerk, she was elected vice
chairman of the Marion County Republican Central Committee, a full-time
post she held until 1978.

Marjorie was twice elected as clerk of the
Indiana Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, serving in that role from
1978 to 1985. She then went on to serve two terms as the treasurer of
state from 1987 to 1995, only the second female to do so at the time.
In 1980 and then again in1984, Marjorie served as the treasurer of the
successful "Hoosiers for Bob Orr Committee" and was a member of the
governor's transition committee after the 1980 election.

Marjorie
served her state and party as a precinct committeeman, state convention
delegate, campaign manager, finance director, candidate, and state and
city officeholder.

Thank you, Marge, for your dedicated service to
Hoosiers and our great state, and for all you did to advance the
Republican cause. May you rest in peace.

Sincerely,

Chairman Kyle
Hupfer

speaks with Clark Price, Chargé d’Affaires at the United States Embassy
in Berlin. (Oct. 4, 2022).
“There is a blinking neon Hoosier welcome
light on, and I spread that message everywhere I go.” — Gov. Holcomb
This week, Gov. Holcomb and members of the Indiana Economic Development
Corporation traveled to Europe to meet with representatives from some of
the hundreds of European-owned companies doing business in the Hoosier
state. With a focus on attracting new jobs and seeking further
investment, Gov. Holcomb touted the state's reputation as a welcoming
place to do business.

"Obviously, a state like Indiana that provides
certainty, stability, continuity and predictability is a very attractive
ecosystem for them to grow their operation, and we want them to grow in
Indiana, not in the other 49 states or territories,” Gov. Holcomb said.
This trip follows recent announcements of huge investments by overseas
partners including Netherlands-based automaker Stellantis and South
Korean-based Samsung SDI's $2.5 billion project in Kokomo.
 Todd
Young: Meeting the Threat [link removed]
Todd Young's CHIPS and Science Act law puts America on
offense against the Chinese Communist Party and ensures we don’t fall
behind China in technological innovation. The Chinese Communist Party
lobbied against this legislation because they knew this bill is bad for
China and good for the United States.

Todd’s plan? Make the
microchips our armed forces need here at home, not in China. Strengthen
our military’s edge, and create thousands of American jobs.

By
passing Todd’s legislation, America is choosing to take the fight to
China – confronting the challenges of today and building a more
prosperous and secure tomorrow for Hoosiers. That’s called meeting the
threat head-on.

Republicans' Launch of the "Commitment to America"
[link removed] Two weeks ago, House
Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy launched the "Commitment to America" —
a plan to get our nation back on track — in the battleground state of
Pennsylvania.

“[Democrats] control the House, the Senate, and the
White House. They control the committees. They control the agencies,”
McCarthy told a crowd at a factory in Monongahela, Pa. “But they have no
plan to fix all the problems they created. So you know what? We’ve
created a commitment to America.

“What the ‘Commitment’ is, it’s a
plan for a new direction.”

There are four main points to the agenda:
An Economy That’s StrongA Nation That’s Safe A Future That’s Built on
FreedomA Government That’s AccountableRead the House Republicans'

In fact, our battle-proven leader in
the First District, Jennifer-Ruth Green, was one of 11 House Republican
challengers to raise over $1 million this quarter, raising a record
$1.3 million.

It's clear that Hoosiers in the Region, and indeed,
Americans around the country, are ready to retire Nancy Pelosi once and
for all!

“I am humbled by the outpouring of support we’ve received
across the Region and across Indiana. We are setting fundraising
records in northwest Indiana, and that support has allowed our campaign
to be on the airwaves in Chicago communicating our positive message to
voters across the district – something a Republican has not been able
to achieve in this district in modern history,” Green said. “We have
put a race on the map that was an afterthought two years ago, and with
5 weeks to go, we are positioned to win this race. I will be a common
sense voice for the people of northwest Indiana and fight for good
jobs, lower prices, great schools, and safe neighborhoods.”

ICYMI: WAVE 3: Ind. state auditor confirms all automatic taxpayer
refund checks printed and mailed From

ic-taxpayer-refund-checks-printed-mailed/ WAVE 3:

Indiana taxpayers
should check their mail if they’re expecting a refund check.

State
Auditor Tera Klutz, certified public accountant, confirmed on Thursday
that more than 1.5 million automatic taxpayer refund checks have been
printed and mailed, which means all the checks have been sent.

“We
successfully completed printing on September 21 and sent the last batch
of automatic taxpayer refund checks to the postal service on September
22,” Klutz said in a release. “Most Hoosiers who filed a 2020 tax
return in 2021, should have received their automatic taxpayer refund
via direct deposit or mailed check by now.”
