John, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to join me in helping Rachel Baker defeat Jenn Giroux, in what is Ohio's most important state legislative race--perhaps one of the most important in the country.

Four years ago, my daughter Jaime was murdered with an assault weapon in the Parkland massacre. Ever since, Republicans like Jenn Giroux have not only done almost nothing to solve a problem, but, in fact, they've passed legislation in Ohio and other states to allow any criminal or terrorist to carry concealed weapons of war in our streets, by eliminating background checks.

We've seen the results in Uvalde, Buffalo, Highland Park, and in 2019, the Oregon, District of Dayton, Ohio, when nine people out for a fun night on the town were murdered, and 17 others sent to local hospitals with their lives never to be the same.

This is about saving lives: Will you donate $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can afford to elect Rachel Baker, defeat Jenn Giroux and put us closer to expanding gun safety and abortion rights in Ohio and nationally?

After the awful Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v Wade, Giroux also came out against abortion in all cases--making the ridiculous claim that women never have to choose between their lives and having an abortion. Giroux's combination of extremism and ignorance are both astounding and dangerous.

Luckily, we have a fierce gun safety advocate and former Planned Parenthood employee in Rachel Baker running against her. And why is this so important? Because this district is listed as the most swing seat in Ohio, and if Rachel and four other Democrats win in slightly more Democratic districts, the Republican-gerrymandered supermajority in the state house will end.

This is crucial, as Nan Whaley has a good chance of being Ohio's next Governor. even if the worst happens and Mike DeWine is reelected, on the few of things where DeWine isn't as crazy as the gerrymandered state house, they won't be able to override his veto. It is also key to getting closer to taking back the state house under the newer lines prescribed by a constitutional amendment to the state constitution.

So I'm asking for your help, friend. Jenn Giroux is being supported by the worst right-wing mega-donors and interests spending a ton of money on her behalf. If we can help Rachel Baker overcome the right-wing money and win this race, we'll also helping turn out voters to help elect Whaley, and Democrats Greg Landsman in a swing House seat and Tim Ryan as our U.S. Senator.

I've often said I consider Ohio a second home, as much of my family lives in the Cincinnati area. But, also, America is my home, and this race will have ripple effects across the country.

Please, friend, this is about saving lives: Will you donate $5, $10, $25 or whatever you can afford to elect Rachel Baker, defeat Jenn Giroux and put us closer to expanding gun safety and abortion rights in Ohio and nationally?

Thank you for helping me make sure no family ever has to feel the loss that I've felt every day since losing Jaime. It means so much.
