Dear John,

This month, I am back in Minnesota! So throughout the week, I was able to do one of my favorite things – connect with constituents and community leaders across the Second District. It was a busy week so I thought I’d give you all a little update on what I was up to.

I started the week in Lakeville to check in with officers from the Lakeville Police Department. I take every chance to hear from officers about the challenges they face and what they need to keep communities safe – and I am grateful to Chief Paulson and his officers who took the time to talk with me.

I was able to join members of the Shakopee Chamber of Commerce for their annual Leadership Shakopee program – a seven-session development program to help new and existing Shakopee business owners further connect with their community. It was great to hear about all the wonderful things these leaders are doing for Shakopee!

I also joined the Dakota County Board, Mayor Jimmy Francis and other leaders in the South St. Paul community to break-ground on their new library. I fought for federal dollars to come home – and allow local governments, who know their communities best, to prioritize local projects. With the help of this federal funding, we are one step closer to providing the South St. Paul community with the new-and-improved library they deserve!

Here are some other highlights from the week:

Keeping Connected with the Ag community
This week, I went out to visit my Ag Community Liaison, Les Anderson, on his farm. I got a chance to help him out with the harvest, combining soybeans and see how the crops fared this year. I couldn't ask for a better Ag Liaison!

Welcoming a Familiar Face to DC
Look who was in DC! I’m so pleased my staff assistant, Hayden (from Hastings), was able to give a Capitol tour to my friend and Dakota County Commissioner Laurie Halverson and her son Kai this week!

Behind the scenes with Rep. Craig:

This week, there was a terrific open invitation for the community to have Coffee with a Cop in Savage – organized by the Savage Police Department! It was great to spend time learning more about how the federal government can support their efforts locally.

It's been a great week in MN02. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Until next time,
