Team —
With the election less than 5 weeks away, we want to make sure we’re doing everything we can for our New Politics endorsed candidates and campaigns. Every week, we’ll be sending you two of our endorsed candidates and ways you can make a direct impact before Election Day.
As we get down to the wire, even a single volunteer shift can make all the difference.
Congresswoman Luria served 20 years in the Navy, retiring in 2017 at the rank of Commander. She deployed to the Middle East and Western Pacific, and culminated her Navy career by commanding a combat-ready unit of 400 sailors. New Politics has proudly supported Luria since her first campaign in 2018 as part of our Service First Women’s Victory Fund (SFWVF). Since then, she’s made history as the first woman veteran to serve on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs (HVAC), and the first to lead an HVAC Subcommittee. Most recently, Luria has been a staunch defender of our institutions as a member of the January 6th Committee.

Another member of New Politics’ SFWVF, Rep. Slotkin has spent her career in national service. She brings the same mission-focus that guided her through 14 years as a CIA officer and Pentagon official to her service on behalf of residents of Michigan’s 8th Congressional district — transcending partisan politics in order to take action on the issues affecting Michiganders every day. She serves on the House Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees in Congress.
Volunteer for Rep. Slotkin’s campaign and help her continue to fight for Michiganders.
Both of these Members of Congress exemplify the mission of New Politics – to ensure that folks with service backgrounds who know what it takes to lead with integrity and collaborate on common goals, move into positions of leadership in government. It’s up to us to make sure these courageous leaders stay in Congress.
Thanks!
New Politics
We support outstanding military veterans and national service leaders, alumni of programs like AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps, to step up and serve our country again, this time through politics. We were proud to be behind the movement of veterans who ran for office for the first time in 2018, and we have big plans to grow into the future.
