John,
Yesterday, President Biden announced that he is pardoning all federal convictions for simple marijuana possession. He also urged governors to do the same for state convictions. This is a major step in the right direction.
The over-criminalization of marijuana has created vast inequities within the criminal justice system. There's no reason that people should lose the opportunity for future employment or housing due to a marijuana possession conviction — but this happens time and time again, and it disproportionately impacts Black and brown Americans.
Prosecuting marijuana possession has overburdened our prisons, and it's taken up law enforcement resources that could instead be used for going after violent crimes. I believe in the decriminalization of marijuana, and I hope that Georgia can at least take the step of pardoning folks who have been convicted of simple possession.
Georgians deserve an Attorney General who understands that equity and public safety go hand-in-hand. They need someone who's willing to advocate for necessary systemic changes.
Unlike Chris Carr, I'll prioritize tackling gun violence (I won't take money from gun manufacturers, for starters). I'll call out unjust laws that limit our police's ability to actually protect communities, and use my platform to advance justice wherever possible.
This is the reform that Georgians desperately need, and that's why we cannot come up short on November 8. John, will you donate $10 to my campaign today so that we can keep making our case in the closing stretch?

Thank you,
