1. YOU'RE INVITED: 🎉 Now, it’s
time to celebrate!
We want to invite you to join us at
this year’s Celebration of Carolina Values, where we plan on having a
celebration 50 years in the making. Gather with us for an
unforgettable evening full of hope and promise for the future of
unborn children and their mothers. In addition to celebrating the
reversal of Roe, we’re honored to be joined by the woman who made that
happen: Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch.
While there is still much work to
be done protecting the unborn in our state, we hope you consider
joining us on October 20th for a day of celebration. Click here to
learn more and purchase your individual event ticket for
$150.
2. NC VALUES: NC School Board
Endorsements
Yesterday we were excited to share with you our endorsements
for the 2022 NC school board races in select counties.
This is the first year the organization evaluated school
board candidates. Seven counties were selected, including Wake,
Winston-Salem/Forsyth, Greene, Pitt, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, New
Hanover, and Guilford counties.
In addition to endorsements, we have sponsored a number of other election
tools to ensure you vote this important election. Among
them are iVoterGuide, and our Legislative
Scorecard.
If you are not already registered to vote, you have until October
14th to get register. After this, you can still register to vote, but
only in-person during one-stop voting.
3. THE HILL: New poll shows tight
Senate race in North Carolina. Budd and Beasley debate
tonight.
"North Carolina Republican Senate nominee Rep. Ted Budd leads
Democratic nominee Cheri Beasley by 1 percentage point, according to a
poll released on Monday. The SurveyUSA-WRAL poll found Budd garnered
the support of 43 percent of respondents in the race to replace
retiring Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.), compared to Beasley’s 42 percent
support. Thirteen percent said they were undecided."
"Budd and other Republicans have looked to tie their
Democratic opponents to high inflation rates, attacking the party’s
sweeping spending packages that passed Congress in recent months.
Seventeen percent of voters said abortion is the most important issue
following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, which has
energized Democrats. Those voters backed Beasley by 67 percentage
points."
As this article from Smoky Mountain
News notes, pro-life positions continue to be an important
issue for NC General Assembly candidates this election.
Also, don't forget to tune in at 8pm tonight to Budd
and Beasley's debate, hosted by Spectrum News

4. NATIONAL REVIEW: Newsom Signs
Bill Making California ‘Sanctuary’ for Child Gender
Transition
"On Thursday, California governor Gavin Newsom signed
legislation that would facilitate child gender-transition tourism from
other states. The bill, spearheaded by Democratic state senator Scott
Wiener, aims to make California a 'sanctuary state' for out-of-state
children to receive so-called gender-affirming surgery and hormone
therapy without the knowledge or consent of their parents. The bill
includes a number of provisions designed to insulate residents of red
states that have banned child gender-transition from
prosecution."
This comes shortly before every House democrat voted against
parental rights legislation.

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIFE
LORD, we recognize that you are
Sovereign over all creation. We recognize you made man from the dust,
and in your mercy, you crowned creation with man and woman made in
your image. What a wonder it is that you would bestow upon us this
blessing and responsibility! LORD, may we not take this blessing for
granted. We pray that this great responsibility and dignity may
motivate us to love You, our neighbors, and our families
more.
LORD, may we as a culture truly see
and believe that children are a blessing from the LORD—born or unborn;
able or disabled. All children should have an opportunity to
experience the liberty of life. LORD, make us your vehicle to change
our culture into one that cherishes and protects life. Keep at the
forefront of our minds our responsibilities to respect, cherish, and
serve the youngest and oldest in our society.
Finally, LORD, we pray even further
for our children. Across our state, country, and world, an entire
generation of youth have seen their lives and education ruptured by
the pandemic and its closing of schools. Father, as a result so many
of these children are not only wounded by the quality of their
education, but by a likely onslaught of mental illness brought about
by social isolation. LORD, bring them hope and healing as only You
can.
"At that time the disciples came to
Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of
heaven?' He called a little child to him, and placed the child among
them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become
like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the
greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child
in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little
ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them
to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in
the depths of the sea.'" (Matthew 18:1-6)
Amen
