Hello Friend,
Welcome to my e-newsletter, the Ready Room. As a retired Naval Aviator, the Ready Room is special to me because it’s where fellow aviators meet to brief and debrief missions. This is my weekly briefing to you on my mission in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for regular updates on how my team and I are working to serve you in Congress.
Recovering from Hurricane Ian
Last week, our state was hit by one of the worst storms in American history when Hurricane Ian made landfall in southwest Florida. While our state and federal agencies did an excellent job preparing for the storm, we have a long recovery road ahead. There are many resources available at the federal level to help with recovery. My team and I stand ready to assist with every available option to facilitate rebuilding efforts. While Ian brought devastation to our state, the countless examples of kindness and compassion exhibited by so many inspires confidence that Florida will rise to meet this challenge.

Visiting the Polk County Emergency Management Center
On Saturday, I visited with first responders, emergency management personnel, and volunteers at the Polk County Emergency Management Center to assess the damage from Hurricane Ian. This remarkable group of folks is doing an incredible job responding to the needs of our community. I'm grateful for all their hard work getting Floridians back on their feet.
