John — I wanted to take a moment to say happy holidays, and to wish you a season filled with peace and happiness, whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or other faith traditions.
To me, this time of year is about rejoicing in the blessings we have. It’s also about our shared commitment to caring for one another, including especially those who are less fortunate, ill, lonely, or experiencing loss. We go above and beyond to comfort one another and to make this a special time for all those we love.
There is no better example of that spirit of service than those who put their lives on the line to protect our communities and our country. Today, I am thinking of our first responders and servicemembers, many of whom are far from home and away from their loved ones. I am also thinking of our military families, whose sacrifices should not go unnoticed, today or any day.
As we prepare to leave 2019 behind and head into a new year — and decade — I want to express how thankful I am for you. Whether you’ve attended an event, pitched in to help our campaign, or taken the time to read messages like this one, I am so grateful for your support. I hope you’re getting some much-needed rest and relaxation as we gear up for a big year ahead.
As always, thanks for all you do.
