Hi, John – I was just going through some files in my campaign office the other day, and look what I found! 😊

Seeing this photograph reminded me of just how far my family has come – from my grandfather who came to the U.S. from Mexico for a shot at the American dream to my dad who served in the Army and inspired my own dedication to public service. It's because of those who came before me, and the support of people like you, that I've been able to compete in two challenging races for the U.S. Senate.

My parents raised me to always be upfront, so that's what I need to do with you right now, John: I'm in the political fight of my life. Experts at CNN and The New York Times just called me the most vulnerable senator up for reelection, which is why the GOP has made my seat their top target to flip red so they can take back the Senate.

But as polling shows me 1 point behind my Trump-endorsed opponent, my grassroots fundraising has slowed tremendously. In fact, I'm short of my $150,000 fundraising goal. With Senate control coming down to this race, I simply cannot afford to fall short.
