Dear John,
I want to wish you warm and peaceful holiday celebrations with your family. This year, my family has grown to include my amazing team who has supported me every step of the way, the coalition of candidates running across the country with me, and all of you who have created this fast-growing movement!
As many of us celebrate the holidays in the warmth of a home, please do not forget that there are so many people who are hungry, cold, and/or in cages because our government does not value us all equally. Yet.
Here is a reminder about what we are fighting for to combat this together as a team:
* Freeing families and children from concentration camps, abolishing ICE, and ensuring no human is considered illegal for seeking a life in our country
* Abolishing homelessness with a #HomesGuarantee
* Removing “for-profit” from our country’s healthcare with Single-Payer Medicare For All (which should include free mental healthcare, dental, vision AND hearing)
* Saving all life on Earth with aggressive solutions like the Green New Deal, ending subsidies to factory farms and incentivizing sustainable farming practices, banning single use plastics (to be replaced with compostable plastics), and nationalizing + upgrading public transit + making it free
* Finally representing and advocating for those with disabilities by updating the Americans with Disabilities Act so the federal government enforces it, increasing Disability payments to be livable, and ensuring that supplies needed are due to one's disability are free
* Restructuring our taxation so that the wealthiest in our society as well as corporations pay their fair share
* Fighting for full and equal representation for all so that decisions about our bodies, status in this country, and quality of life are no longer dictated by people who have no idea what it is like to be an everyday person
* Getting big money out of politics through federal tax credits so that people are the only influence in politics, not profit
