This session of Congress, House and Senate Democrats, with the steady support of the Biden-Harris Administration, have enacted several transformative pieces of legislation. From the American Rescue Plan and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in 2021, to the CHIPS and Science Act and Inflation Reduction Act thus far in 2022, Congressional Democrats and the Administration have delivered on promises to spur economic development, increase domestic manufacturing, lower the cost of healthcare, reduce poverty and so much more. 

In short, the 117th Congress has been one of the most productive in recent memory, and the investments that my colleagues and I have made in our country and our people will be reaped by generations to come. I am eager to share with you today the quantitative impact, provided by the Joint Economic Committee and U.S. Census Bureau, that these policies have had on our district:

  • 16,000 total jobs created ¹
  • 700 new manufacturing roles generated ¹
  • 72% increase in new business filings ¹
  • 18,000 now able to access affordable health coverage ¹
  • $804 average decrease in annual ACA policy premiums ²
  • 88,000 seniors with Medicare drug plans ¹ now with a:
    • $2,000 annual cap on out-of-pocket drug costs ²
    • $35 monthly cap on insulin copays ²
  • 46% decrease in the national child poverty rate ³
  • 45.4 million Americans lifted out of poverty ³
