John,
Asylum seekers and migrants have every right to seek refuge from dangerous
or harmful conditions, but Ron DeSantis and his Republican counterparts
across the country continue to attack them.
When we launched our Establish Justice Initiative in August of 2021, we
did so with the goal to challenge Republican extremism like this head-on
by building power across the entire judicial system, from statewide and
municipal judicial seats to Attorney General and District Attorney.
One key race to counter these attacks is happening in Florida right now
where DFA-endorsed candidate Aramis Ayala is running to unseat Ashley B.
Moody and hold Ron DeSantis accountable for his abuse.

It’s no secret that by and large, Democrats have neglected making deep
investments in criminal justice races for years while Republicans have
flipped courts across the country.
This has led to inequity in our justice system, elections, and other key
issues. Our Establish Justice campaign is working to win these races
head-on.
There’s no doubt that DFA’s Establish Justice Initiative will be crucial
in the fight to defend marginalized communities against attacks on their
rights.
Establish Justice means putting forth and fighting for an agenda that has
the courage to take on the powerful special interests who have so much
power over how we handle criminal justice in America.

need not only to hold Republicans accountable but to start repairing
what’s broken in this country. Fuel our Establish Justice Initiative with
a donation of $15 or whatever you can afford now.
Thank you for everything you do.
