Governor McKee has proven his commitment to protecting women’s reproductive rights and keeping our communities safe from gun violence.

Planned Parenthood and Everytown for Gun Safety officially endorsed Governor McKee today because there’s a stark contrast between the Governor’s leadership on these critical issues and Ashley Kalus’ extreme anti-choice, Trumpian agenda.

Following heartbreaking, senseless tragedies in Uvalde, Buffalo, and cities across the country this year, Governor McKee took action and worked with the general assembly to pass some of the nation’s smartest gun safety legislation.

He was proud to stand with Shannon Watts, founder of Moms Demand Action, as he signed new bills to get rid of high-capacity magazines, raise the legal age to purchase firearms to 21, and prohibit people from openly carrying loaded rifles and shotguns in public spaces.

And the Governor has stood up for abortion rights throughout his public service career: advocating for the Reproductive Privacy Act, signing an Executive Order to protect women who travel to Rhode Island seeking reproductive health care, and including the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act (EACA) in his most recent budget proposal.
