I was fuming this week when I heard the news that Herschel Walker, the Republican candidate for Senate in Georgia, allegedly paid for his girlfriend’s abortion several years ago. This wouldn’t be an issue at all – if it wasn’t for the fact that Herschel is campaigning on a staunchly pro-life platform, saying he wants to completely ban abortion with “no exception”.

John, if there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s hypocrisy. And hypocrisy is worst when it comes from folks running for public office who don’t hold themselves to the same standards as the citizens they’re trying to represent.

Now I wish I could tell you that Herschel Walker has no chance of getting elected, but polls are showing he’s in an extremely tight race with his opponent, my friend Rev. Raphael Warnock. In light of this, can you rush a split donation between my campaign for Congress and Rev. Warnock’s campaign for Senate?

Democrats are at risk of losing our majorities in the House and Senate, and the race between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker could tip the balance.

It makes me sick to my stomach to think that Herschel Walker is campaigning for a complete ban (with no exceptions for rape or incest), after he himself has allegedly urged his own partners to get the procedure. It’s no secret that many Republicans’ actions don’t line up with their words on this issue, but this is just egregious.
