I have children in school, and the shooting in Uvalde, Texas hit me particularly hard, and I knew I wanted to do something. So when I saw that NCGV Action was running phone banks in the lead-up to the election, I thought it was a great way to get involved. 

You may be thinking that picking up a phone and calling a stranger feels scary. You might be afraid that no one will pick up, or worse, that you’ll have to talk to someone who is rude, or mean. I get it. I felt anxious about phone banking, too, but I can tell you that it has been incredibly rewarding. 

I’ve connected with people who were genuinely grateful to learn more about where the candidates stand on gun violence prevention policies. And I know that those one-on-one conversations are going to have a real impact on if and how they vote.
