Texas Business Leaders Urge Congress to Provide Permanent Protections for Dreamers - Texas Business leaders issued a joint statement after the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruling finding the DACA program illegal. “We have witnessed the vital role Dreamers play in our state’s key industries as workers, leaders, and entrepreneurs who have helped shape Texas’ society, culture, and economy into the global leader we are today...Texas businesses can’t afford any further setbacks to building a robust workforce. We urge Congress to establish a permanent legislative solution for Dreamers to allow these immigrants to live free of fear and continue contributing to our state’s prosperity.”

As DACA Faces Renewed Legal Peril, Evangelicals Across the US Urge Congressional Action - Lifeway Research polling found that 80 percent of evangelicals support bipartisan cooperation on immigration reforms that would provide a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers along with strengthened border security and reforms. 65 percent of evangelicals said they would be more likely to support a candidate who advocated these solutions, while only 7 percent said support for such reforms would make them less likely to support a particular candidate.

That’s wrong, and we must do better for military families. This bipartisan bill is now heading to the President’s desk to make long overdue increases to life insurance for servicemembers and veterans.
