John, this will
be a longer email, but it’s important so we hope you take a few minutes to
read it all.

The DCCC and establishment leaders have gotten themselves into a sticky
situation in TX-28:

The Democratic establishment went to bat for Henry Cuellar while he was
facing an extremely competitive primary election from Justice Democrat
Jessica Cisneros.

Henry Cuellar is the last anti-choice Democrat in the House. The election
was so close that it went to a runoff and a re-count and Jessica fell
short by less than 300 votes.

We’re facing an unprecedented moment after the Supreme Court overturned
Roe, and Democrats have a fighting chance to hold onto our majority. But,
the majority in the House could hinge on TX-28 where major pro-choice
organizations aren’t opening their wallets to help him win — because he is
against reproductive freedom.

Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Jim Clyburn decided to
back an entrenched, corporate backed incumbent and now Republicans are
spending massive amounts of money to try and flip the district.

This all could have been avoided if Democratic leadership didn’t help
Henry Cuellar win the primary by fewer than 300 votes.

The Democratic Party needs an overhaul and we need leaders who will
actually fight to elect people who believe in reproductive freedom. That’s
why our work to transform the Democratic Party from the inside out is so
important.

Money has always been one of the biggest things holding us back from doing
more. It’s the one thing that our establishment opponents have a seemingly
endless supply of and that we’re always working hard to raise just a
fraction of what they can raise.
