On January 6th, a mob of insurrectionists flooded our Capitol, driven mad with rage over the false idea that the 2020 election was “stolen.” Trump’s Big Lie and the subsequent violence that raged in our Capitol was a near-death blow to our nation’s democracy. While we were able to certify President Biden’s election in 2020, our democracy remains in a constant state of peril.
