Today, Global News is reporting that 50 of Pierre Poilievre’s most recent YouTube videos used a misogynistic tag appealing to “a mostly-online movement comprised of anti-feminists who attempt to cut women completely out of their lives."

We can’t believe we have to say this in 2022, but let’s be clear: women’s rights are human rights.

It’s been less than one month since Pierre Poilievre has been leader of the Conservative Party and with him already promising reckless policies that would roll back our progress, we’re staying as focused as ever on moving Canada forward.

We know that gender equality benefits everyone: it helps grow our economy, leads to greater health and happiness, and promotes peace and security. Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team have a strong record of supporting women and creating feminist-based policy including:

- First-ever gender balanced cabinet in 2015
- Introduced the Feminist International Assistance Policy which supports initiatives and organizations that fight gender inequality and promote the rights of women and girls, including their sexual health and reproductive rights;
- Continually invested in organizations to advance gender equality and support women and children fleeing domestic violence;
- Delivering $10-a-day child care that not only makes life more affordable, but also gets more women back into the workforce;
- Launched Canada’s first-ever Women’s Entrepreneurship Strategy, a more than $6 billion investment to help remove the barriers facing women entrepreneurs;
- Increasing women’s access to much-needed capital as they start and grow their businesses through the Women Entrepreneurship Loan Fund;
