Jack, President Biden committed to transitioning the U.S away from fossil fuels to support a cleaner, greener, more sustainable future, and has made significant progress in doing so through legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act. However, new proposed offshore drilling could hinder this climate mitigation progress.

A proposal for up to 11 new offshore drilling projects is currently accepting public comments. Make no mistake, new offshore drilling will not only exacerbate current global warming, but it will also not directly address any current gas or energy shortage issues as any new projects would take years to complete.
This is just a proposal, and the Biden administration is asking for public feedback on it. However, the end of the public comment period is fast approaching, so we need to raise our voices, now!
