Yahoo News reports: "Supporters of former President Donald Trump seeking to control elections across the country have raised the specter of a second insurrection" amid concern that they will "rig the election results for Trump if he seeks the presidency again."

The President, Barack Obama, and other leaders are sounding the alarm. Liz Cheney recently told CNN: "There are people running so that they are in a position where they will be able to certify the results only for Donald Trump...That’s obviously fundamentally a threat to the survival of the republic."

One nonpartisan group tracking Secretary of State races nationwide told Yahoo News, "We’re headed down a path we can’t come back from."

New York Magazine recently echoed the concern, noting "the disturbingly large ranks of 2020 election deniers who are running this year to take over the election machinery in potentially competitive 2024 states."

FiveThirtyEight reports that "60 percent Of Americans will have an election denier on the ballot this Fall."

Secretary of State races typically don't get tons of national scrutiny, but QAnon-linked candidates in Arizona and Nevada are currently ahead in the latest polls. In 2022, Democrats cannot afford to ignore the races that will determine who conducts and oversees the 2024 election.
