Thank you for supporting The Colorado Turnout Project over the last month, fundraising quarter, year—it’s been quite a ride for our organization and our work since we started in January 2021.
The start of 2021 held so much promise, and then we witnessed the unimaginable: a violent domestic insurrection, aided and abetted by the leaders of one of America’s two major political parties.
And now, we’ve truly got our work cut out for us: today, the Washington Post reported that a majority of GOP nominees for public office across the country deny the validity of the results of the 2020 election. That is, a majority of the GOP’s candidates for office this year live in a made up alternate reality that allows them, and their followers, to declare an election “unfair” or fraudulent if they wind up losing.
The danger we’re facing with these radical, unhinged people is obvious. But not every reasonable, or persuadable, voter in key districts or states like Colorado is aware of these facts.
