San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance

Dear John,
When the San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomed Msituni (see-TOO-nee), a baby giraffe, last February, we quickly realized she needed our help. Although giraffe calves can typically walk an hour after birth, Msituni was struggling to stand and keep up with her herd.
After discovering her front legs were bending improperly, our wildlife care specialists, veterinary team, and partners from the Hanger Clinic crafted and fitted custom orthotic braces for Msituni to wear. After two months, the braces were removed, and Msituni is now thriving at the Safari Park.
Throughout the Safari Park’s 50 years, the support of our community has made moments like these possible. By symbolically adopting a Safari Park species, you can fuel conservation efforts around the world and ensure moments like these can continue.

Plus, most adoption packages come with a plush animal that serves as a cuddly reminder of the difference you’re making for wildlife. Along with giraffes, you can also symbolically adopt other Safari Park species, like gorillas and platypuses.
Conservation is at the heart of everything we do, and with your support, we can secure the future for giraffes and other wildlife worldwide.
