Greetings John,
We are so close but the Boundary Waters needs you now more than ever. U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum has a bill that is moving through the US House that would protect the Boundary Waters from sulfide-ore mining forever. However, we do not have a bill introduced in the Senate yet.
Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith need to hear from you today. [[link removed]]

As Minnesota’s two Senators, they alone can make sure the Boundary Waters is protected for all generations to come. And we need not just Minnesotans, but everyone from across the country to email in to their office today asking them to introduce Rep. McCollum’s bill, HR 2794 the Boundary Waters Wilderness Protection and Pollution Prevention Act in the Senate.
The facts are simple:
Sulfide-ore mining pollutes nearby surface and/or groundwater 100% of the time.
70% of Minnesotans do not want this toxic industry adjacent to our Wilderness.
A massive, toxic sulfide-ore mine would destroy the current sustainable economy and way of life for northeastern Minnesotans.
All available scientific documentation leads to only one conclusion: this would be the wrong place for this sort of industrial mining activity.

We need Senators Klobuchar and Smith to introduce legislation today. [[link removed]] Congress only has a handful of working days before the end of this term. Please let them know [[link removed]] you want them to get to work to protect the crown jewel of Minnesota and our federal Wilderness system for all generations to come.
