Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
There are many holidays celebrated at this time of year but the common themes of each are love, life's blessings and the warmth of community. I just returned from a beautiful midnight mass, one of my favorite traditions. This year is special though. I love it when Christmas and Hanukkah overlap on the calendar and are celebrated at the same time. While they may not be related exactly, they both celebrate light as freedom from darkness. Oh how appropriate that theme is as we approach the 2020 election cycle. What we are doing together is such important work, but today we pause to celebrate the holiday with friends, family and loved ones. So light the Christmas tree and light the menorah! Today is the time to celebrate light!
We wish you joy and good fellowship in whatever you choose to celebrate, with whomever you choose to celebrate. No matter what you choose, may your days be merry and bright!
God Bless You, God Bless Your Loved Ones, and God Bless America!
In service,
SHIRLENE
