But threats to Social Security and Medicare are looming in the months ahead, and we do not have the luxury of being complacent or resting on our laurels. To put it bluntly, John, we need resources to fight to protect and defend these programs. We need YOU.
That's why, as we prepare to celebrate Medicare's 54th Anniversary and Social Security's 84th Anniversary, the National Committee is launching a limited time SUMMER CHALLENGE which gives our supporters a unique opportunity to raise awareness among more Americans, the media and our elected officials in Washington about the critical nature of Social Security and Medicare — and the urgent need to strengthen these programs for future generations of Americans.
