John:
I’ve reached out before about what this recent fundraising slump means for our campaign. It’s pretty straightforward: if we miss our goals, we need to cut our budget.
But our fundraising has fallen off a cliff in the past few weeks. It’s no longer a matter of if, it’s a question of how much we will need to cut.
Budget cuts are never a good thing. And we’ve had them before – but never like this.
With one month before the election, we just had to make our biggest budget cuts of the cycle. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans just added another $1.1 million ad buy in New Hampshire – bringing the total spend against me to over $60 million.
Republicans are ramping up attacks while we are slashing our budget. If we don’t turn this around – and quickly – we’ll have to cut even more. This is the worst possible time for our campaign to fall short, so I’m urgently asking:
Can you rush $5 to my campaign right now? We’ve got a big hole to fill, and every penny makes a difference.

I really appreciate your support, especially in times like this.
With every good wish,
Maggie Hassan
