In any close race, it’s the little things that make the biggest impact. That’s a lesson I learned back in 2018, when I won my first election by a two-point margin.

VA-02 has swung back and forth between parties four times since 2000, so CNN is calling our district one of the last true battlegrounds in the country.

And now, FiveThirtyEight puts my odds at exactly 50% – a pure tie with my opponent. That means that every single contribution and vote has the potential to seal our fate, for better or for worse.
