Hey John -- I wanted to write you before I get swept up in all the craziness tomorrow. My family is with me right now and we're ready to exchange gifts and eat good food and tell even better stories. So I'm feeling grateful.

And I'm grateful not just for the many blessings I have, but for you, too. Growing up helping my dad on the farm, I never thought I would run for U.S. Senate. But as I looked around and saw what's happened to our country, I knew I had to do something. When I announced I was running I had no reason to expect anything. But thousands of people like you joined this people-powered campaign, reminding me that together, we will bring positive change to the people of Iowa, and for people across the country.

The new year will bring new challenges, but my promise to you is this: I'm going to keep fighting. I'll never forget who I am, where I'm from, and who I'm fighting for: folks like you.
