Here’s a name the whole country will know soon enough: Cheri Beasley.
 
Cheri is running for U.S. Senate in North Carolina, and she’s ready to defend democracy and work for the people of North Carolina. 
 
 
Cheri’s race is CLOSE. A Republican-funded poll showed that Cheri is tied with GOP candidate Ted Budd, and Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight average shows the two candidates less than 1% apart. Cheri’s poised to take the lead from Ted Budd if we can help her muster the resources to do it.
 
 
As a former defense attorney and magistrate judge, I know a bit about Cheri’s background and the qualifications she brings to the table. She started her legal career in a public defender’s office, and she rose to become the chief justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
 
Cheri understands what justice is. But more importantly, she understands what injustice is, and she is willing to call it out everywhere she sees it.
