I hate emailing you like this, John, but I have a request:

Will you please rush $3 or more to our reelection campaign in New Hampshire?

We cut down our fundraising projections because donations to emails like this one really slowed down. Our campaign is built to withstand ebbs and flows, but I’ve never seen a dip quite like we experienced last month – and we are currently making budget cuts.

This is an enormous setback.

I don’t need you to make up everything – that’s not how teams work – but if you’re able, I do need you to please urgently chip in $250. $250 is a lot and most of us don’t have that laying around – I’d understand if it doesn’t work with your finances. Could you please chip in $3 instead?

I’ll admit, the Republican attacks are unsettling. They’re misleading voters – and they’ve put over $58 million and counting behind their message.

I only won my last race by 1,017 votes. We HAVE to build up the funds to debunk these attacks. Please, donate as much you can (really, $3 would make a huge difference) to help us fill our fundraising gap right now.
