If you ask my family, friends, and team about me, one thing you’ll probably hear pretty quickly is that I’m a straight shooter. After years on the bench as a judge and the former Chief Justice of North Carolina, it’s just my nature.

That mindset is what I think you deserve from your next U.S. Senator, and it’s how we’ve tried to run this campaign.

From the start of this campaign, we’ve tried to be as transparent as possible because there would be no campaign without the support of folks like you. That’s why we don’t do the fake “triple matches” or scare tactics you probably see elsewhere.

I want you to know that when we ask, it’s because it’s important. It’s because I know that $5 and $10 at a time will make a difference.

And with our official FEC deadline coming up on the 17th, the reality is that we need to ask for a lot of help in the next few weeks. We’ve got our most ambitious goal ever, and the honest truth is we are significantly behind on our fundraising.

So I am humbly asking you today:

Can you please split a donation of $5 or whatever you can afford between our campaign and Valerie Foushee for Congress today?

I’m filled with gratitude for this team. The outpouring of support has been absolutely humbling, and I hope you know that I do not make these asks lightly.

I truly believe our job is to use every dollar you give as effectively and efficiently as possible. And there are still important investments we can make today that will pay massive dividends when the votes are counted.

But with just weeks to go and the FEC deadline around the corner, there is no time to waste.

So please, if you can, split a $5 donation to our campaign to flip North Carolina’s Senate seat and Valerie Foushee for Congress. Anything you can spare today gets put to work immediately to help us organize in all 100 counties and get our message in front of more voters.
