In the face of climate catastrophe and utility-caused calamity across the country, energy democracy activists are calling for control, ownership, and decision-making regarding energy resources to reside in the community rather than in remote corporate boardrooms.

As collaborators of the Energy Democracy Project, we have answered the calls for solidarity from across the movement, and invites your allies and network to join us for the official public launch ([link removed]) of the Reimagined Energy for Our Communities (REFOCUS) Campaign on October 13th at 2p ET/ 1p CT/ 12p MT/ 11a PT/ 10a AKT:

Please note: live Spanish interpretation will be offered, and a Spanish version of this message is noted below. The REFOCUS Campaign Launch is open to the public–all Energy Democracy Project allies, collaborators, partnered organizations, and individuals looking to tap into solidarity work with frontline communities are welcome. It’s time to unite our efforts for justice, from Alaska to Puerto Rico, and invite others to join us in taking action.

In a brief 1.5-hour webinar ([link removed]) , participants will walk away with critical tools:
* Deepened understanding of Energy Democracy and its ties with other struggles within the global justice movement
* Multi-modal methods to amplify our work and empower communities to pursue an equitable energy system
* Clear ways to take action for justice in our own communities, as well as in solidarity with one of the most critical Energy Democracy activism efforts of our time, based in Puerto Rico.

Ante la catástrofe climática y la calamidad que han provocado los suministros en todo el país, los activistas prodemocracia energética están exigiendo que el control, la propiedad y la toma de decisiones respecto a los recursos energéticos estén en manos de la población, y no en consejos de administración de empresas inaccesibles.

Como colaboradores del Energy Democracy Project, hemos respondido a los llamamientos a la solidaridad que han surgido en todo el movimiento, e invitamos a tus aliadxs y a tu red de contactos a unirse a nosotros para el lanzamiento público oficial ([link removed]) [link removed] la campaña Reinventar la Energía de Nuestras Poblaciones (REFOCUS), el 13 de octubre a las 2 pm ET/ 1 pm CT/ 12 pm MT/ 11 am PT/ 10 am AKT:

El lanzamiento de la campaña REFOCUS está abierto al público: todos los colaboradores del Energy Democracy Project, aliados externos, organizaciones asociadas y particulares interesados en una labor solidaria en las poblaciones de primera línea son bienvenidos. Es hora de aunar fuerzas por la justicia, desde Alaska hasta Puerto Rico, y de invitar a otras personas para que participen en nuestras actividades.
