Friend: My family has a little tradition—every year, after we cut down our Christmas tree, my father would sneak a shot of bourbon to us (over 21) kids before taking the tree back to the car where my mother was waiting. If she ever knew, she didn’t say anything, but I always treasured these little moments with my family.
The holidays really are a time to slow down and enjoy the little pleasures we don’t always have time for during the rest of the year, and to connect around special traditions with family.
So today, I wanted to just reach out to say: from my family to yours, thanks for being on this team.
I hope your holiday is full of warmth, good food, the laughter of friends and family, and (if you’re so inclined) a nip of a little drink we hold close to our hearts here in Kentucky.
