Palestine Advocacy in California: History, Limitations, and Potential

This session will address what California means to Palestine work in America and what it means to diasporic organizing and cultural preservation. From political advocacy to cultural awareness, California remains at the forefront of confronting Zionism and creating visions for liberation.
Second Session: 1:30 PM
PYM Facilitated Workshop: Student Empowerment, Youth Organizing, and Confronting Zionism Locally
PYM members and SJP student organizers
Speakers will discuss their transition from student organizing into youth & community organizing with the PYM. They will also discuss their experiences challenging Zionism on campus, how they’ve developed campaigns to organize against Zionism on campus and on a local level, and how to debunk common zionist talking points throughout our campaigns.
Third Session: 3:00 PM
PYM Facilitated - Current Campaigns and Strategies for Building your Own
SJP student organizers and PYM members
Speakers will discuss the UC Divest campaign and their efforts to build a powerful coalition across campuses, and student and community organizations to challenge Zionism and the war industry at the UC level. Participants will learn about strategies to develop their own campaigns.Â

Paving the Road for Palestine Advocacy in America

From local initiatives to national campaigns, the work for Palestine in America runs deep on multiple fronts including political advocacy, electoral campaigning, media and film, social and cultural campaigns, grassroots mobilizations, and Muslim-community-specific initiatives.
