Hi John,
Presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg held a billionaire fundraiser in an exclusive “wine cave” with Swarovski-crystal chandeliers.
He’s getting a lot of blowback, but the people who attended the wine-cave fundraiser are shocked, shocked (!) at the negative press. They’ve been defending the event. Billionaires have feelings, too 😢
“Class warfare is ugly,” they say.
Well, you know what?
He’s taken $180K from pharma/health products, $245K from insurance, and $3.2 million from corporate PACs.
At the same time, he refuses to support Medicare for All (while saying he wants everyone to have “access” to healthcare), spouting Republican talking points as his excuse.
I’m going to be blunt: Corporate Kilmer and the billionaires are conducting class warfare.
And there are real victims in this battle:
The victims are every single diabetic who rations insulin.
Every single senior who skips their prescription so they can pay rent.
Every single person who dies waiting in line for drug treatment.
It’s not just “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.” It’s “the rich get richer and the poor die.”
We don’t make $2,800 a pop at wine-cave fundraisers. In fact, our average donation is $21.68. But the truth is that it takes a lot of money to run for Congress, and I need a grassroots movement to win.
My opponent drops big money on golf and catering and rakes in corporate cash. I fund this campaign with donations from grassroots donors like you. That matters, because it means that it’s YOU I’m going to listen to when I’m in Congress, not greedy pharma executives and rapacious corporations.
Thank you for standing with us and being a part of this movement,
-Rebecca
P.S. Thank you for your birthday wishes and donations yesterday. I really appreciate it!
