Hey John — I’m Sara, and I’m on WFP’s digital team.
We send a lot of emails, and that means we get a lot of replies in return. A lot of y’all say some pretty nice, inspiring things — thank you for that! Occasionally, we get some hate mail too — usually from a conservative who accidentally wound up on our email list.
But sometimes we hear from people experiencing great hardship, saying they’d love to help, but simply can’t afford to right now.
So this holiday season, I have a special request for you: if you can, could you chip in an extra $3 — or maybe even double our average donation of $12.40 — to make a $24.80 contribution on their behalf?

It is important to me to be clear that every single Working Families supporter has an equal voice and say in the direction of our movement, regardless of the amount that you give. We are building working class people power, and that means when it comes to fundraising we especially value small dollar support.
Every day, the Working Families Party is fighting to win a world where our loved ones aren’t crushed by student debt or medical bills, aren’t robbed by their criminally low-paying jobs, and aren’t trampled on by behemoth corporations that reap trillions in profits without paying a nickel in taxes.
At the Working Families Party, we’re building a political movement to win big structural change that breaks up corporate power, and at the end of the day that movement needs to be accountable to working class people, many of whom live paycheck-to-paycheck, and are just one unexpected car repair bill or medical expense away from poverty.
So just know that whether you can pitch in right now or not, we’re all in this together. The purpose of our movement is to build a system where everyone is treated equally and has a voice, regardless of how much money they have. And we want to reflect those values here with all of you.
We know that different people can step up in different moments — and if you’re someone who can step up a little more this month before this huge end of year deadline, please do. Even $3 gets us one step closer to hitting our $105,000 goal so we can enter 2020 with the resources needed to win big.
Thank you for everything you do, John, and for being a part of this movement. And please make sure to keep the positive emails coming my way.
Gratefully,
Sara Ackerman
