Hi friend,
?
The campaign season is heating up and ballots will be coming out soon. This is a great time to start talking to friends and neighbors about the importance of registering and voting.?
?
I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but the 2022 election is incredibly important. We have a mass of Republican lawmakers who were willing to lie about the 2020 election because Trump told them to. If they get reelected, it will make it clear to future politicians that lying has no consequences. That would be a disaster for future contested elections.
?
But the point of this email is to highlight two upcoming events in our district. Sadly, LaMalfa has still not committed to a debate, although he "may" be able to make a Zoom Forum hosted by the League of Women Voters of Butte County, tentatively scheduled for October 20th.?
?
First, we are having a Congress/Assembly Candidate Forum in Yuba City this Friday, 10/7 at 6:00 pm in Boyd Hall (970 Klamath Drive). It will be moderated by Robert Summa, Editor of the Yuba City Appeal-Democrat. LaMalfa has been invited, but - unsurprisingly - has not confirmed. (I'm not hopeful.)
?
Next week on 10/11?5:00pm, there is another Candidate Forum in Anderson (just south of Redding) for Congress and County Supervisors. I will be joined by moderate Shasta County Supervisor candidates Baron Browning and Erin Resner at the Frontier Senior Center (2081 Frontier Trail). It will be moderated by Mike Warren, the former City Manager of Redding.

Thanks for all of your support so far! Let's keep fighting for democracy here in CD-1!
