PEAR Workgroup

Seeking Members for Pro-Equity Anti-Racism Advisory Group 

We are looking for external partners who are interested in becoming a part of our PEAR (Pro-Equity Anti-Racism) [ [link removed] ] Advisory Group, which will advise the internal PEAR team on its decision-making. 

We will be holding two virtual informational meetings at *1 p.m.* and *6 p.m.* on *Nov. 2* to provide an overview of PEAR, explain what the advisory group will be doing, and take suggestions on format and timing. Reminder: Utility Bill Assistance Available for Qualified Households

Utility bills

Having trouble paying your utility bills? Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

There are still COVID-19 assistance funds available for energy utilities in addition to ongoing assistance programs. Contact your utility company to learn how to apply, and ask about your options, including setting up a payment plan.

Federal funding is also available for qualifying customers through the Federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP funds are distributed through local community action program agencies.

You may also qualify for COVID-19 financial assistance for rent and utilities through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau [ [link removed] ].

Customer Fees and Notice Rulemaking

The commission is currently reviewing its rules and is seeking public feedback on potential changes, including the possibility of permanently eliminating late fees, disconnection fees, and reconnection fees.

Other topics for consideration include payment arrangements and programs, billing requirements, and collections.
