Bottom Line: "A group of GOP lawmakers who are also U.S. military veterans (Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., Congressman Mike Gallagher R-Wis., and Michael Waltz, R-Fla) wrote to Secretary of the Air Force Frank Kendall requesting a briefing on "wokeness" policies allegedly being implemented throughout the Air Force and Air Force Academy.”

Bottom Line: "Congress is seeking answers on whether Chinese companies are skirting U.S. sanctions that bar the importation of goods made with Uhygur slave labor. "Selling products made by Uyghur slave labor is both illegal under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and morally abhorrent," Rep. Mike Gallagher said.” 

Bottom Line: "Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI), alongside House Foreign Affairs Committee Lead Republican Michael McCaul and 35 House Republicans, today introduced the Taiwan Policy Act. This legislation would strengthen Taiwan’s defense and deter CCP Aggression by establishing a comprehensive set of tools to increase Taiwan’s military capabilities to deter and defeat a CCP attack.”

Bottom Line: "When it comes to the allocation of resources and programs, DoD is habitually under-invested in commercial technology and more reliant on the capabilities it develops alongside traditional defense contractors. As a result, DoD is failing to leverage the full breadth of tools at its disposal to tap into the U.S. innovation ecosystem and ensure American technological dominance for decades to come.”
