Yesterday my opponent launched a large TV and cable ad buy against me through a dark money PAC that falsely claims that I have never argued a case before a judge, which is a lie. I have argued before the Nebraska Supreme Court. The Nebraska Supreme Court even unanimously ruled in my favor when my opponent and the Republican Party tried kicking me off the ballot.
Here are the facts: I currently run a legal advocacy and services organization, regularly manage and assist litigation teams, and supervise an agency with currently over 80 staff. I have litigated and argued before the Nebraska Supreme Court. As senator on the Judiciary Committee, I have introduced or amended our criminal laws, civil procedure, child support and enforcement, civil matters pertaining to the counties, civil commitments, and power of local governments for the last 8 years.
The facts matter, and whether or not my opponent and his surrogates littering downtown with hundreds of misleading fliers, falsely claiming I am a multi millionaire in a push poll to thousands of voters, or trying to kick me off the ballot through false claims that I am not a practicing attorney, we will continue to talk about the issues that matter the most to voters: Public safety, transparency and accountability.
