Good Morning, Friends!
I am writing to give you an update on the campaign and my life in general.
As many of you know, my day job is owning and running a small cake shop. Over the last seven years, my husband and I have poured countless hours into managing the day-to-day operations. This business has been my passion and I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to do something I love full-time.
As election day has drawn closer, the fall wedding season has ramped up, and due to the cost of ingredients, which have continued to rise, I have struggled to keep up with both the campaign and the business which is our household's only source of income.
The reason I decided to run for office in the first place is because I always wanted to be represented by someone who knew the issues people face every day. While juggling everything on my plate, I am well aware what a privilege it is to have the flexibility to be in the position I am.
My heart breaks for single parents trying to make ends meet, for those at risk of losing their homes if they are late on another payment, for those with no family to rely on and no safety net if they fall.
I tell you all of this because of the incredible support you all have show me in my decision to run. I feel I owe it to those of you who have supported and invested in me with your time, energy, and hard-earned money to be transparent.
It is my sincerest desire to help those of Southwest Missouri. The people here matter and they deserve a representative that is listening and working to provide hope and opportunity to the district. The burden we feel for those who have lost hope is heavy, and you all have so graciously helped carry it. And I want to thank you for that.
Fortunately, our small, all-volunteer campaign team has been putting forth a tremendous effort we continue to move forward. We are now less than 5 weeks out from election day and we need help.
