John,

The Supreme Court started its new term this week and Moore vs Harper is the most concerning case on the docket this term.

Likely to be decided in 2023 [link removed], Moore vs Harper will likely transition who has the final say in elections for Congress from state courts to state legislatures. In the most extreme translations, “it could allow state legislatures to subvert the will of the voters and overturn election results. And it would be more difficult to use courts or the state constitution as a backstop, since the legislature would have all the power.”

Our prediction: the Supreme Court will rule in favor of state legislatures. This could mean state legislature elections will be our only pathway to at least controlling the House and Senate again, and maybe even the Presidency.

Investing in state legislatures has never been more important. Join us in making sure blue state legislatures lead the way and purple legislatures are flipped blue.

In solidarity,
