John,
There’s no doubt that the youngest voters played a big role in the outcome
of the 2018 and 2020 elections and can greatly impact elections in 2022
and beyond.
That’s why for years Republican extremists have worked overtime to pass
restrictive voter suppression laws designed to discriminate against
college students and give Republicans an outsized advantage.
From making registering to vote difficult for college students that live
away from home, to closing polling places near universities, there are
numerous restrictions designed to undo all of the progress we have made in
building a more inclusive, representative democracy.
We must ensure that voters of all ages have the same access to the ballot
box.
We’re calling on Secretaries of State across the country to end voter
suppression among college students by:
* Ensuring there are polling places on or near campuses
* Allowing students to vote using their college ID
* Automatically sending mail-in ballots to students registered to vote
in-state

Republican lawmakers are doing everything they can to make sure that they
maximize Republican voting power by suppressing the turnout of voters most
likely to keep them from gaining power.
Our work to fight voter suppression across the country is more important
than ever.
Progressives need to step up to defend and expand democracy -- even as
right-wing extremists seek to taint our electoral process. That’s why
we’re asking you to help fight back against attacks on voting rights.
