The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Water Quality Division, Watershed Protection Program has released a report that describes findings from a probabilistic (census-like) water quality survey of perennial streams and rivers of the North and South Platte River Basins. Results from this survey provide an objective representation of the aquatic biological condition of perennial streams and rivers and their suitability for drinking water, fish consumption, and recreation based on selected water quality and biological indicators. This study also identifies the most common stressors and their relative impact to aquatic biological condition. The document is available online at https://deq.wyoming.gov/water-quality/watershed-protection/surface-water-monitoring/ under the Publications tab. Also found at this location are reports from previous surveys of the combined Bighorn and Yellowstone Basins, the combined Northeast Wyoming Basins, and the Green River Basin.
