Join Foreign Policy and the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) for a solutions-based conversation exploring the unfolding damage to Africa’s natural areas and the threat that poses to the rest of the planet. Experts, advocates, policymakers, and funders will outline the troubling state of affairs, including rapid urbanization, agricultural expansion, and degradation from climate change that are hurting Africa’s natural areas and threatening their role as one of the major “lungs” of the world. The panel will also look ahead to identify ways in which the global community can help Africans thrive in their role as stewards to those natural treasures, how to balance the continent’s needs for industrialization and preservation, and how to fund all the projects necessary to develop sustainable “green infrastructure” throughout the continent.

Register now to listen to this conversation that will feature:

- Hailemariam Desalegn, Former Prime Minister of Ethiopia
- Paulo Gomes, Former Executive Director, World Bank
- Carol Pineau, Filmmaker and Journalist
